The festival The CÁCERES URBAN SCREENS 2009 that will take place from 8th to 11th October, will bring together a cast of performers and audiovisual proposals that will transform the night to reach the downtown in an innovative multimedia laboratory.

CACERES URBAN SCREENS 2009 is the first festival in Spain which focuses
thematic exploration of the possibilities of artificial light as a potent tool and artistic media in urban environments. For four days the audiovisual and lighting facilities, located in an urban tour of just one kilometer from the Paseo de Canovas the old town of the city, reinvent public spaces, transforming them into ephemeral artistic creations.

An international team that includes designers, video artists, painters, video disjokeys, designers, actors, musicians, Djs, animators, lighting designers, architects and explore new forms of communication and public works. This new artistic language replaces the traditional media, the freedom offered by the urban environment. The XXI century visual art, breaks down the barriers imposed by space displays, museums and venues, his creations out into the street and shared with the public.

Video installations, happenings, large-scale projection screens, LED and lighting designs of iconic buildings, located in the architecture of an exceptional space Cáceres bet annually by the most innovative projects in Europe and show from here everyone.

URBAN SCREENS is organized by AVIVART, events & communication, and already has the support of various public and private entities, they consider this project as a solid bet to promote cultural and technological very positive impact for the region.
